Find Hope in Any Situation

“Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:5). Very strong words that can relate to any situation you are ever in. Hope is an extremely small word with multiple meanings. When I hear the term hope, I think of emotions because we want something, which leads to determination to get what we want. Many individuals think of hope as just being hopeful, but it’s so much more than that. True hope is a discipline, a determination to believe in God’s reality and power, even when the world seems to be crashing down around you. Understanding hope makes sense to me. We could be having the worst day ever, but we still hope for better things. That pushes us to make our day better. Furthermore, we also have the Lord to help make our day better because he will always take care of us.

So why have hope? The key to getting through any challenge is this four letter word we know as hope. We hope to win that case. We hope that our partner wants to get married. We hope that Jesus loves us. We hope that the future you place in hs hands will be better than the present you hold in your own. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

I remember a specific instance where I hoped our Lord would help me get out of a situation I was in with a friend. Until this day, I praise him for allowing me to reflect on things mentally. I had no hope and thought about things way too much to the point where I was so stressed out. I found the hope I needed in order to release myself from this problem. Hope got me through the situation. Find your hope and practice it. With it’s power you will overcome anything that steps in front of you. “Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
